Making dios isn't what I use to do and really not my forte, but without practice I won't get better! :)
I bought a canvas, some clay and some grass turfs for this purpose.
First I did a scetch on the canvas.

Then I used the clay to build the landscape.

The clay I bought was very soft but also had a tedency to crumble. Using water and brushes to help form it was useful.
I'll let it dry and then start painting. I'll use railroad grass and the turfs I bought, but I guess I need to go foraging in the woods to get some branches and stuff that might look as bushes. Any advice is welcome! :)
The idea is to make a slightly muddy dirt road with grass turfs in the middle and bushes and whatnot on the sides, and some puddles.

Yes I think so too. I found out that this form of clay can be made soft again by adding water.
So I'll try to work a bit with water and take out some of the cracks.
I also found out that a wet cloth over the base while drying should help.
