How many of you are old enough to remember seeing it in the theater? In the days before we could pause movie trailers on YouTube, we had to gather whatever details we could from magazines, toys, and promotional items.

For three years, I was convinced Darth Vader was lying to Luke. After all, the Emperor had referred to him as "the son of Skywalker," and not "your son."

I had to wait a few weeks before I had a chance to see it, so I couldn't discuss it with my friends until after the school year.

What do you recall?

I am old enough to remember seeing Star Wars A New Hope in the theater lol with mom and dad, then Empire Strikes Back with my cousin Cathy, and Return of The Jedi with my buddies from school. And, those are the only Star Wars movies I ever saw in the theater. I haven't watched any of the new ones.

Hard to wrap my head around that... 40 years... I remember standing in line for hours only to hear that the show was sold out and staying to wait for the next show with hopes of getting in the next show.

Here's another memory:

I don't gamble much, but I was so sure that the movie would be called "Revenge of the Jedi" that I wagered a quarter on it. I even had written proof: The 1980 Time magazine article covering ESB had already revealed the new title. When the Kenner action figure commercials started calling it "RETURN of the Jedi," I was sure it was a mistake.

My friend and I bet 25 cents on the title. Just a few weeks before its release, I bought a Return of the Jedi t-shirt and wore it to school. My friend held out his hand, and I gave him the quarter.

I was 2 when it came out, so I honestly don't know when it was I actually saw the movie. My sister's were not into Star Wars growing up so I'm pretty sure it wasn't until the early 90's that I was introduced to Star Wars.
